EPA RRP classes in NH
The Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule is a federal US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) program that bears upon contractors, property directors, and others who interrupt modifying interior and outside painted surfaces. Painting/surface preparation, window replacement, carpentry, maintenance, electrical, plumbing, and remodeling activities are content to EPA RRP rules. Exclusions include emergency fixture work, modest repair work that agitates less than six (6) square feet of paint per room, and housing announced lead free by a qualified lead inspector. Types of places involved by the EPA RRP rule program include pre-1978 schools, apartment buildings, and residential homes.
Presently electricians, GCs, painters, carpenters, maintenance contractors, and property managers are being asked to provide pre-renovation educational lead leaflets to tenants, obtain delivery confirmation, and place signs about the work area
Effective April 22, 2010, renovators must take an eight (8) hour training course by an EPA approved EPA RRP training provider and the business firm they act upon for must also be recognized. EPA RRP classes in New Hampshire address dust and debris containment, bounding open flame blazing, exhaust control for power tools, record keeping and clean up operations, and other precaution measures. The accreditation must be regenerated every five (5) years. Other U.S. territories and local demands may also implement and be more rigorous.
Renovation contractors shouldn’t only be knowledgeable of the current EPA lead rule, but also the changes in procedures strike their current insurance platforms.
