OSHA construction: Occupational Safety and Health Administration

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) have lower hazardous work environments and promote worker health and safety since 1970 that made the total rate of work area injuries and illnesses minimized. What's even better, numerous U.S. territories have adopted OSHA approved safety and health training programs to perpetuate the trend. And now some U.S. territories are taking it a step further.

Several U.S. territories have passed bill to push OSHA training including: New Hampshire, Connecticut, New York, Missouri, Nevada, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The bill requires all construction employees to complete an approved OSHA construction training course. This not only is a bright idea for business owners and contractors to require the training to ensure a safe workplace environment.

June 5th, 2009, Nevada's bill was been signed on which drove by the 12 construction live lost that occurred along Las Vegas Boulevard in 18 months. Made to develop construction safety, this requires all workers and construction leader to complete OSHA training program within 15 days of being hired. The new bill goes into effect January 1st, 2010.

Nevada is following Missouri, New York and surrounding state for have dramatically increased OSHA 10-hour construction course enrollments over the last few months.

For employees needing their OSHA 10-hour construction training card, location will not be an issue. Students are given enough time to complete the training which provides an OSHA 10-Hour Completion Certification upon graduation.
