Bowman’s Inc. cited by OSHA after violating OSH Act
Bowman’s Inc. of Mountain Home, Idaho, was quoted by Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Boise Area Office for trespassing of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSH Act) associated to dangerous working circumstances in trenches, resulting in a human death at a Pocatello,Idaho, job site.
OSHA’s probe following the death of a pipe layer sank in a trench on September 16, 2009, detected two so-called intentional and three alleged serious offenses.
The violations take a foreman who was knowledgeable of the hazardous circumstances and neglected to act, and failed to provide subsidence protection for workers working outside the trench harbor. OSHA brings out a deliberate citation when a business owner’s demonstrates plain indifference to or willful push aside for workers safety and health.
The alleged dangerous infringements are for breaking to protect employees exposed to an unsupported, disclosed dynamic gas line; failing to put up a ladder for entree and exit of workers working outside of the trench shield; and wrong use of the trench shield.

Bowman’s Inc. penalties calculated $44,500 and has 15 business days from receipt of the acknowledgments to abide, request an informal group discussion with Boise, Idaho’s OSHA’s area director, or contend the findings prior to the independent Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission (OSHRC).
